Goals

Goals of the course

The goal of French 2200 is to continue the learning of French commenced through core French in junior high. As noted in the Evaluation page, there are four main areas of focus (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking). While these may be the focus of evaluation, the main focus of classroom time is to interact with one another in French. Be it through discovering new areas of interest, playing games, rehearsing plays, or practicing simple life skills in French, students will gain the necessary confidence to achieve high levels of language ability. Current philosophy of language acquisition bases itself on speaking and listening first, then moving on to reading and writing. Certainly skill levels are expected to increase in all areas, though natural conversation will be our primary focus.
